New season, new challenges

Go Charlie

Last year we told you a bit about a certain Charlie Martin. Charlie likes hills. And she’s got herself something of a reputation for being a bit quick.

“If my hands aren’t shaking, I wasn’t trying hard enough…”

Shame is though that we never see her over here because when it comes to hillclimbing, Europe is the place to be. So that’s where you’ll find Charlie, competing in the FFSA Championnat de France.

Last year Charlie’s mount was a Formula Renault car which served her well as she learned the courses around and up the mountains of France. But this year, having tested a Norma M20FC sports prototype, her mind was made up that this was the way forward for 2017.

So cue Charlie and her first race of the season at Col St. Pierre in the south of France (lucky Charlie!). She was not only instantly on the pace but showing the way over to many of the more powerful cars. Final result was fastest lady finish, 9/24 in class, 22nd fastest overall!

So a great start and lots more where that came from we’re sure.

And talking of things to come, Charlie is currently looking to put together a package for her to tackle the biggest, baddest hill in the world, Piles Peak, in 2017. If you think you could help put her in the seat to become the fastest lady up the mountain then click here to contact her.
